This policy explains how The Works (“we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you use theworks.ie or contact us. [Registered company name], trading as The Works, is the data controller. You can contact us about this policy at hello@theworks.ie.
What we collect
- Details you send us through our forms: your name, company, role, email, phone number (optional), sector, what you would like help with, your message and, for a marketing review, your website and LinkedIn addresses.
- Details you give when you book a call through our booking tool: your name, email and the time you choose.
- Basic technical information needed to run the website securely, such as your IP address in server logs.
How we use it and our legal basis
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange a call, prepare a marketing review or send a proposal. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.
- To keep the website secure and working. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe website.
We do not sell your data, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the website and handle enquiries: our website host, our form-handling service (Web3Forms), which delivers form submissions to our inbox, our email provider and, if you book a call, our booking tool. They process data on our behalf under contract. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area; where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client, in which case we keep the records we need for the contract and for tax purposes.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct, delete or restrict it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@theworks.ie. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
