Construction marketing in Ireland: common questions

Straight answers to the questions managing directors of construction, engineering and built-environment firms ask before they hire marketing help. If yours isn’t here, ask us.

Questions

Cost and value

How much does a construction marketing agency cost in Ireland?

For ongoing outsourced marketing, expect a monthly retainer. At The Works, packages are €795 a month ex-VAT (Essential) and €1,450 a month ex-VAT (Growth), with a three-month minimum term. Websites, video and one-off projects are quoted separately.

Is it cheaper to hire a marketing executive or use an agency?

A full-time marketing executive in Ireland typically costs €40,000–€50,000 a year in salary, plus employer’s PRSI, software and management time, and one person rarely covers strategy, writing, design and reporting. An agency gives you a team for a fixed monthly fee. A hire makes sense once you need someone on site every day.

How long does construction marketing take to show results?

Expect three to six months before you see consistent results. The first month sets up your plan and accounts, and visibility builds from there. Treat marketing as a steady habit, not a one-off campaign.

Questions

What works in construction

What marketing works for construction companies?

The firms that win work consistently show proof: recent projects, a capable team, safety and quality. In practice that means LinkedIn content, project case studies, a credible website and tender-ready material, done consistently, month after month.

Should a construction company be on LinkedIn?

Usually yes, and LinkedIn first. Clients, quantity surveyors, main contractors, specifiers and future employees all check it. Instagram and Facebook suit firms with visual work or a residential audience.

Can marketing help us win tenders?

Marketing doesn’t replace a strong tender, but it helps with the parts scored on credibility: case studies, capability statements, team profiles and evidence of similar projects. It also means evaluators who look you up find a firm that matches the tender.

Can marketing help with recruitment in construction?

Yes. Candidates check your LinkedIn and website before applying. Regular content about your projects, your team and site life makes you look like a firm worth joining.

Questions

Working with The Works

Do we need to give the agency a lot of time?

Not with The Works. Most clients spend 30–60 minutes a month with us, plus approvals. We work from site photos, project details and short conversations with your team.

What’s the difference between a construction marketing agency and a general agency?

A specialist already understands how the sector buys: who specifies, who approves, and what credibility looks like. You spend less time explaining your work, and the content is more accurate.

Which construction firms does The Works work with?

Contractors and builders, engineering consultancies, building services and retrofit firms, and construction suppliers and technology companies, across Ireland. We’re based in Galway. See sectors and packages.
